Troubleshooting Your TV Spider InstallationI think I correctly installed all the cabling; but, I do not get a picture on channel 125.
Check to see if the power cube is plugged in the 110 outlet and attached to the TV SPIDER Hub power socket.
Some of my TVs have great picture quality on channel 125 and some have no picture on channel 125.
Check to see that the composite video cables from the audio/video source to the input of the TV SPIDER hub are matching the color codes for each wire. Check to see that the composite video cables from the output of the TV SPIDER Hub to the TV are matching the color codes for each wire.
It is important that the TV SPIDER Cable Entry Signal Director be connected to the COAX cable coming from the Cable Provider and then connected to the first splitter in the cable distribution system as shown in the installation examples on the installation page.
Figure 1 shows how some older cable distribution systems were wired. Multiple cable splitters were cascaded to split the cable signal as more TVs were added over time.
Figure 2 shows the correct installation of the TV SPIDER Cable Entry Signal Director in a cascaded splitter COAX distribution system. This requires that the TV SPIDER Hub be connected to TV 1. Every TV on this distribution system will have a high quality picture on channel 125.
Figure 3 shows an incorrect installation of the TV SPIDER Cable Entry Signal Director in a cascaded splitter COAX distribution system. The TV SPIDER Hub is connected to TV 4. In this example TV 3 will have a high quality picture on channel 125. TV 2 and TV 1 will have no picture on channel 125 because the channel 125 signal is blocked from going backwards by the Cable Entry Signal Director. This is why the Cable Entry Signal Director must be connected to the COAX cable coming from the Cable Provider as shown in Figure 2.
If it is necessary that the TV SPIDER Hub be connected to TV 4, a new COAX cable must be installed so that it can be connected to the Cable Entry Signal Director, which will be located at the place where the COAX cable from the Cable Provider comes into the house. Figure 4 shows how this installation is performed. Every TV on this COAX distribution system will have a high quality picture on channel 125. |
